Christina Pellicane, DVM, Dip. ACVO

Dr. Pellicane, a proud Florida native, was born in Miami. She earned her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees at the University of Florida. Her interest in ophthalmology grew and in 1990 she returned to the University of Florida for her residency in Veterinary Ophthalmology and earned the designation of Diplomate with the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists in 1994. Dr. Pellicane moved back to South Florida that year to practice veterinary medicine. In 1997, she bought Camelot Animal Hospital and opened within that facility her veterinary ophthalmology practice Sawgrass Veterinary Referral Associates. Dr. Pellicane's philosophy is to catch pets' eye problems as early as possible to prevent more serious problems from developing. During her career she has healed the eyes of a variety of creatures, including horses, birds of prey, snakes, rabbits, dogs and cats. Currently, she focuses on dogs, cats and rabbits.

In addition to helping animals with their eye issues, Dr. Pellicane's favorite pastimes are hiking, antiquing, reading and volunteering for environmental causes. She lives with husband James, son Jimmy and too many pets to name!

"Extremely nice staff and the Opthamologist (Tina Pellicane) is so sweet and caring for my cat."

"They were able to get me squeezed in same day. My cat hurt his eye and it turned out to be a corneal ulcer. The vet and staff were all very attentive towards my cat and answered all my questions knowledgeably. Prices were affordable considering we saw an optometrist specialist. Good location, friendly staff, clean exam rooms and office in general. I would definitely recommend for anyone searching for a vet eye doctor."

"I took my two kittens in Friday morning because they had a eye infection. The Dr. took the time to care for them. She is really dedicated to help animals. Places like this you don't find anymore. They care about your pets not your wallet. Great staff. They won a new customer. Very happy."
