Meet Our Doctors

Lisa Feinstein, DVM MPH
Dr. Lisa Feinstein grew up in Miami with a household of animals, from pet mice and gold fish to dogs and cats and even horses. She always knew that her career would be veterinary medicine. She attended Princeton University (Biology major 1995) and Tufts University for her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Masters in Public Health (1999). She has been practicing small animal medicine and surgery ever since, first in Miami and then in Broward when she married her husband. She practiced at Stetzer Animal Hospital in Coral Springs from 2000 to 2008 and then when the practice closed, she moved to Plantation Animal Hospital. Dr. Lisa practiced in Plantation until October 2015 and has been working at Camelot Animal Hospital ever since. All animals are interesting to her. She has 3 human children, along with 1 dog, 3 cats, 1 tortoise, and 15 chickens in her animal family.

Mark Steele, DVM, JD, MPH
Dr. Mark Steele is a native of Los Angeles. He attended school at the University of California and has lived in Broward County since 1986. He is the father of an Emergency Veterinary Technician and has been teaching science as an adjunct professor at Broward College since 1990. Dr. Steele takes care of cats, dogs and horses. Because Dr. Steele has always had an interest in animals and science since he was in elementary school, becoming a Veterinarian was natural. He enjoys working at Camelot because the staff is both professional and personable. Everyone at Camelot loves what they do. At home Dr. Steele has 2 Pit Bulls, Spliff and Tazz, one cat named Kiki, a parrot named Mango and an Arabian Stallion named V.J.
Aimee Leigh Monek, DVM, CVA
Dr. Monek is originally from Davie, FL and graduated cum laude from the University of Florida with a degree in pre-professional biology. Dr. Monek then went on to continue her education at Auburn University and earned her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and completed her certification in veterinary acupuncture at Chi University. Her professional interests are in Ophthalmology, Integrative Medicine and Sports Medicine while her personal interests include rodeo/horseback riding, travel, music and design. Dr. Monek chose the field of Veterinary Medicine to advocate for and help those who do not have a voice, to strengthen the human-animal bond and to provide compassionate care for all creatures great and small. She enjoys working at Camelot animal hospital because it's in her hometown of Davie and it is great to be back home and serve the Southeast Florida community. At home she enjoys spending time with Cassie, her 10-year-old Australian Cattle Dog who loves to dig holes and chase lizards.
Meet Our Staff

Elissa
Practice Manager
Elissa is originally from New Jersey but moved to South Florida in 1999. A former student at FIU and a licensed esthetician, Elissa is happy to be back in the environment where she feels the most comfortable; working with animals and their owners. In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach, watching movies, reading, and genealogy. She has 4 kids and many animals including Shelby a 2-year old Pitbull Mix, Loki an 8-year-old Rottweiler, 3 cats, 2 ferrets, and a tortoise! Elissa likes working at Camelot Animal Hospital because the staff are friendly and she enjoys meeting new people and their pets.

Camila
Ophthalmology Technician
Camila was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelors in Zoology and is currently studying to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. Her favorite animals are cows and Octopuses. Camila is the youngest of 4 siblings and she enjoys pilates, puzzles, and reading in her free time. Camila has chosen to work in veterinary medicine because she has had a passion for animals since childhood and because of the close connections and time she gets to spend with patients. She enjoys working at Camelot because of the staff's concern shown for animal care and the teaching atmosphere. She loves learning about animal eyes with Dr. Pellicane and is excited to be able to help all the animals that come in.

Cindy
Veterinary Technician
Cindy was born and raised in Kansas City. She moved to South Florida in 2021 when her husband transferred here for work. Cindy was a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer for 25 years and changed careers to fulfill her dream of working with animals. She loves all animals but her favorites are dolphins and Dobermans. In her free time Cindy likes to travel, go to the beach or theme parks and watching football (Go Chiefs!). She has chosen to work in the field of veterinary medicine because she has loved animals her entire life and feels grateful to finally have the opportunity to work with them. Cindy loves working at Camelot because of the teamwork and passionate co-workers. At home Cindy has 2 dogs, an Australian Shepherd named Cooper and Oreo, a chihuahua. In February 2025 she lost her Doberman, Rosie - her heart dog. Cindy also has 2 cats at home named Luna and Two.
Chantelle Santana
Veterinary Technician
Chantelle was born and raised in South Florida. She has been surrounded by animals and wildlife her whole life. Her passion for animals started early watching Steve Irwin and diving deep into wildlife conservation. Her favorite animal is the Caiman Croc. Her hobbies include filming, conservation studies, diving, herping (specifically snake hunting), and anything else outdoors. She has chosen the field of veterinary medicine because she fell in love with wildlife and understanding the behavior in each species and their habitats help us to co-exist. With ten years of veterinary medicine experience under her belt she's had the chance to work with a variety of species and continue learning and growing in the field. Chantelle enjoys working at Camelot because she loves the sense of family and how everyone she works with truly loves animals. She also admires the culture of saving animals and educating owners on proper care that the Camelot team possesses. At home Chantelle has three cats, Pablo Escobar, Cleo, and Murr. She also has a ball python names Lilleth and a Costa Rican Green Tailed bird named Lola.

John Palacios
Veterinary Technician
John was born and raised in Miami, FL. He has owned dogs his entire life and currently has a Boxer mix named "Koby". His hobbies include producing music, exercising, fishing, collecting comic books and playing video games. John has chosen to work in the field of veterinary medicine because he finds providing medical care to animals to be very gratifying. He's enjoyed working at Camelot because of his amazing co-workers. He's looking forward to growing with the new team.

Martina
Veterinary Technician
Martina was born in Argentina and moved to South Florida when she was 5. She, her husband, and their two children all love animals, especially dogs. When Martina has the time, she helps to rescue, foster, and adopt dogs out. Her other hobbies include crafting, working on her car, and motorsports. Martina chose to work in the veterinary field because she has always loved helping animals. She was looking for a career change and landed here at Camelot Animal Hospital. Martina enjoys working with her amazing coworkers who teach her new things every day. “I love the atmosphere; everyone truly cares about the animals and the wonderful clients.” Martina has two dogs, Mika, a 9-year-old lab. mix., Halo, a 9-year-old Redtick Coonhound, and thirteen chickens.

Alexis
Veterinary Technician
Alexis is a native of Davie, Florida. She studied Biology at Florida State University earning a bachelor's degree. Alexis went on to complete her masters in pharmacology and physiology at the University of Florida. Alexis hobbies include running and spending time with her family. Her favorite animal is a sloth. Alexis chose to work in the field of veterinary medicine because she is pursuing a doctorate in pharmacy. Her dream is to be a Veterinary pharmacist and to focus on research in the field. Alexis likes working at Camelot because of the teamwork and everyone working together to accomplish goals.

Samantha
Veterinary Technician
Samantha was born in The Bronx, NY but has been in South Florida for over 20 years. She has her bachelor's in nursing from West Coast University. Sam's favorite animals are cows, cats and rabbits. Her hobbies include learning, puzzles, video games, gardening and following her son's new interests. Samantha has chosen to work in the field of veterinary medicine because she has always had a strong urge to help her patients - animals and human alike. After working in veterinary medicine for over 10 years, she is working to obtain work in a human hospital as well. Sam has been with Camelot in various positions over her tenure here. She has enjoyed the interactions and relationships built with clients and patients and loves the team that has been built over the years here at Camelot. At home Sam has 2 Dachshunds - Teddy and Izzy, a cat named Gimpy and a rabbit named Bun.
Monique
Ophthalmology Receptionist
Monique was born and raised in Florida. She has worked with reptiles and Florida native species conservation. She is a frequent beach cleaner and loves people and animals equally. In her free time Monique enjoys learning about paleontology, fossil hunting and reading. She has chosen to work in veterinary medicine because she wants to be part of helping to heal animals and aid in preventative healthcare. Monique loves working at Camelot because she enjoys working alongside compassionate coworkers and those who love animals. Monique has a cat at home named F.F. short for Foo Fighters.

Michelle C.
Receptionist
Michelle has lived most of her life in South Florida. She has a 14 year old son and a border collie named Bentley. In her free time Michelle enjoys taking her son to skateboarding contests and events, going to the beach, hanging out with friends and trying new foods. Michelle has worked in veterinary medicine for 15 years and while she doesn't have an interest in the hands-on work, she loves meeting all the different pets and owners that come in. She enjoys being the first face they see when they come into the hospital. Michelle loves that everyone at Camelot is like a big family and the staff all respects and helps each other. She enjoys the peaceful surroundings and atmosphere Camelot has to offer.

Helena
Kennel Assistant
Helena was born in Florida to Brazilian parents. Her favorite animals are cats and squid. She loves cats because of their various personalities and squid for their ability to adapt in various environments. In her free time, Helena enjoys cross stitching, reading and playing video games. Helena has chosen to work in veterinary medicine because she has always had an interest in Biology and loves working with animals. She enjoys working at Camelot because she has been able to learn a lot about animal health while getting to take care of our patients. Helena has one dog name Bella and 4 cats named Sushi, Bernie, Mia and Luma at home.

Kayleigh
Kennel Assistant
Kayleigh is a native Floridian. She is the oldest of 4 siblings and recently graduated high school. She is currently attending college with the intentions of becoming a Marine Biologist. Kayleigh as a special interest in Art. She has chosen to work in Veterinary Medicine to help animals and her favorite part of working at Camelot is meeting all of our different patients that come in. Kayleigh has many pets at home including Loki her Rottweiler, Shelby her Pit Mix, 3 cats – Pooh, Kitten and Toes, and three ferrets – Otto, Martin and Croqueta.

Skittles
Queen of Camelot
Skittles is our hospital cat. Dr. Pellicane found her at Tree Tops Park all alone and hungry. She took her in and Skittles has been Queen of Camelot ever since. She spends most days relaxing on Dr. Pellicane’s desk, sleeping in her cardboard box, or watching the staff eat their lunch.
